Boston Sculptors Gallery: Second Sunday Series6:00 pm
Boston Sculptors Gallery
486 Harrison Avenue
Boston, MA 02118
The Boston Sculptor’s Gallery concert series presents Matt Sharrock, an accomplished marimbist, percussionist and composer who will perform his solo project “Narratives,” a unique blend of drama and music. “Narratives” highlights abstract concepts of narrative and an individual's perception of time in pieces such as “Long Distance” by Steven Snowden and “Empty Shell Girl” by Amy Beth Kirsten, among others. As half of the bass clarinet/marimba duo “Transient Canvas,” Sharrock has premiered over 75 new works and performs across the United States and Europe. He has also performed with some of New England’s finest ensembles, such as the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Portland Symphony Orchestra, Boston Landmarks Orchestra, Sound Icon, and Boston Musica Viva.
The Second Sunday Concert Series at Boston Sculptors Gallery presents a monthly collaboration with contemporary classical musicians and noise society members. The musicians are often inspired by the sculpture on display and perform interactive works in response to it. All events are free and open to the public and donations directly support the musicians.
